about Rikako Nagashima

Graphic Designer
Born in 1980. Graduated from Musashino Art University in 2003 and established village® in 2014. Focusing on visual language, including visual identity design, signage planning, and book design, they act as a mediator of concepts and ideas in the fields of art, cultural activities, environmental activities, and welfare activities, translating them into colors and shapes. In recent years, to reduce the environmental impact of the production process, they have incorporated waste reduction, recycling, and the selection of low-impact materials into their designs. Their past work includes "Sapporo International Art Festival: City and Nature," the new visual identity plan for the Pola Museum of Art, the Japanese Pavilion "Trajectories of Elements" at the Venice Biennale International Architecture Exhibition, and "Ryuichi Sakamoto: Playing the Piano 12122020." In 2018, they gave birth and published their first book, "Far Before Color and Shape" by village farm press, which reflects on the challenges of balancing childcare and design work and provides insights into society from that perspective.
